Camp NaNo 2016

CNW_Participant2016

It’s that time of year again! Camp NaNoWriMo 2016, the first of two.

This Camp I have set a really small word goal…15,000 words. I am going to focus on short stories, the theme being supernatural and horror. I plan on posting what I write up daily here to the blog, so keep an eye out! Hopefully I’ll manage some pretty entertaining things.

In other news…Quinn is adapting to her new home here. She gets along really well with Jeffrey Jones, but, Jeffrey is a pretty chill sort of guy. Things with BaxterMarie can get a little tense, however. There was a lot of poofing and hissing and growling going on, but that has eased up. Baxter is TRYING to make friends, but Quinn is still a little iffy and tends to hiss and retreat.

Oh…remember I broke my foot? I did it again. I swear, my poor foot is going to fall off at some point. I went to see my doctor and she looked at it, said I should probably go back to the bone and joint specialist again for possible surgery. I told her I thought the specialist was a quack. Nice guy and all…but a quack.

The daughter demon spawn of mine is doing well. She has discovered yoga and loves it. She goes to a non profit (they take donations and she is out of a job currently) place and really enjoys it. She even dragged her father creature with her. I guess he thought it was okay, but he hasnt gone back…lol. ME? NOPE.

GOOD NEWS! My mommy  and daddy are coming up from Guatemala for a little visit. Its time for them to renew their (retiree) military IDs and they want to get a few legal things taken care of. My dad is going to go see his family up north, too, while my mom gets fought over between me and my older sister…lol. All in all, its going to be nice.

So, thats the dealio. Look out for some short stories coming in April. I’ll probably do the same thing again for the July Camp NaNo, though with a higher daily word count.

One Step Closer…

So, remember when I adopted little abandoned BaxterMarie? Well, one of the vet techs in the office had adopted her twin. The poor girl called me the day before yesterday, just in tears. Her older cat wasnt adapting to the new kitten. He was becoming physically ill.

She immediately thought of me. The reason, she states, is because of how quickly I took BaxterMarie into my care, and how when the late ChesterAnn was ill, I spared no expense to try to get her well again.

So this tech called and asked if I would please take in BaxterMaries sister, Harley Quinn. I said yes, of course.

Here she is, she looks just like Baxter, only long haired with a fluffy tail.

Now, there is immediate hatred going on up in this house. Jeffrey Jones, for the most part, is indifferent. Quinn hisses and snarls at him, he growls back, but does his own thing.

BaxterMarie on the other hand…well…these two clearly hate each other at the moment. Quinn is MUCH louder than Baxter. That intimidates Baxter.

Just like adapting Jeffrey to Baxter, we will transition all these kittehs to one another, and things will smooth out. Its just going to take some time, and the occasional mauling. Yes, Quinn has mauled my once already when I was kindly showing her where the poop box was.

So, the house is quite the snarling, growling and hissing circus right now.

But I’m one step closer to being a REAL crazy cat lady!!!

I GOT LOOT!!!

So my lovely friend Patricia sent me a loot box! Oh, so many wonderful little things inside!

Jeffrey decided he wanted in on the pic, so dont mind him. As you can see, there is some really wonderful stuff here. A Nintendo Controller Over Mitt, A Zombie Book, A Game of Thrones Action Figure, A Lootbin Pin, A Space Invaders Figure, A Tea Cup w/Spoon, an Arpon with puppies on it, some hair rollers and Walking Dead ‘Ear’ Soap on a Rope.

2016-03-08 17.36.43

As you can imagine, with what a HUGE fan of Daryl Dixon on TWD I am, the EARS!! ZOMG!! LOVE!

2016-03-08 17.36.49

Now, the oven mitt and Game of Thrones Figure? I barely got the chance to say ‘mine’ when quickly that thought was proven wrong as my daughter-spawn cackled and ran off with them. She is a Game of Thrones nerd. Well, she’s just  a nerd. Period.

Now, Patricia, I gotta ask…the hair rollers? REALLY?!?! WOMAN! You know I had to get all my hair cut off. I AINT GOT NO HAAAAR! lmao. Honestly, I do have a bit on top. What will I do with these rollers? Probably put them in my hair and go to WalMart. Just to see peoples reactions.

So thank you so much, Patricia!!! Everything is so wonderful.

Currently I am enjoying a week of peace. Okay, thats stretching it. I am between courses this week. I am starting a new one and from the looks of it, I am really going to need my brain for it. Just looking at the assignments breaks my brain. ~wails~ WHAT DID YOU PEOPLE LET ME DO THIS?!?! (remember, I warned you all I would regret this ‘continued education thing?) Honestly, its not that bad…so far. >_>

The kittehs are doing well. BaxterMarie isnt really growing any. She’s like a miniature cat. Its adorable, especially next to Jeffrey who is getting rather fat. They have a wonderful bond, too. The groom one another, they rough house, they knock my stuff over. -_-

The child-spawn is well, too, other than stealing my stuff.

The book, while on hold, is still making progress. Sometimes something will come to me out of the blue and it makes for a good chapter or add-on, so I write in all down in a word document. Its nice not having the pressure.

So, that is how things are going in the Zoe world.

Severe Weather, Kittehs and Classes…

skull_kitty_classic_round_sticker-rcf19db4c8de4420e92afb11f506e76ed_v9i1a_1024

So, last night we had severe storms in the area. Here in Enterprise, we had a lot of strong winds, trees fallings and debris everywhere.

In the nearby city of Dothan, they had much more going on. Part of the ceiling at a WalMart fell in, lots of people without power, trees falling on peoples homes. They were a lot harder hit than we were, and there is only 20 miles between us.

I made sure my friends down that way were okay. Thankfully everyone was.

The cats are doing great. I am a little worried about BaxterMarie. She isnt growing. She seems like she’s going to be a ‘forever kitten’. Perhaps she is just a little tiny breed. Jeffrey Jones on the other hand is getting fatter by the day. YAY. And he is a proper little Sir. As I have told my friends, he just needs a monocle and top hat. He is a bit on the skittish side. BaxterMarie is as fearless as ever. Oh, and she still likes to pee in my bathroom sink for some reason.

So, remember back when I decided to start taking some school courses? Remember how I said I would probably regret it? Cry? Throw tantrums? Well, I am. WTF was I thinking?!

However, as much as it all makes me want to cry, I am thoroughly enjoying it. I have a huge class load, but I can take it at my own pace pretty much, since I dont work or anything. And these classes, so spectacular. They are definitely holding my interest.

I should check in more often, I know, I know. I will try to make it a point.

I have reconnected with some family members that I havent talked to in years as well. You see, my mom was always sort of the ‘black sheep’. She married a military man and we traveled and lived all over the place, while her sisters stayed right in the area they were born. So, we all had some distance there. And my aunts werent very nice when my mom was younger either. I remember that growing up. But things are different now. I am calling one aunt on  a semi-regular basis, and doing hand written letters with the other. It is actually quite nice.

Well, the bad weather has died down. We’ve had our typical weird winter weather here in the South. Temps in the 70s, tornados, then the temps dropping into the 40s. You know, once every ten years or so it snows here in April. Totally freaks us out. We arent prepared for snow. We dont know what to do other than shut down the state…lol. No, seriously. The upper portions of the state knows what to do. But not down here in the very southern most part. We all flail about and marvel at the white stuff falling from the sky. We also close our part of the state, because heaven forbid we try to drive in the stuff. You wont catch me trying to drive, no sir.

And, lastly, I am still addicted to the Netflix Vortex of Doom. I’ve also fallen in love with Putlocker.

Tonights movie: Macbeth. Michael Fassbender….YUM and DROOL!!

So, until next time my lovies…

Snail Mail Movement

letter-writing

So, I am laid up with a broken and fractured foot, the weather is either hot and humid with the random tornado, or freezing cold. Its all Patricias fault.

And speaking of my dear friend, it got me thinking. I really do get tired of staring at this computer screen day in and day out. Sure, email is quick and easy.

But actual letter writing is a dying artform. I write back and forth with Patricia through both email and snail mail. I love the snail mail. I get cute cards and pretty stationary. Yes, my handwriting is comparable with that of a serial killer, but hey, its the thought that counts.

So, as a request to you lovely  followers, in my time of healing, I was wondering if any of you would also like to be snail mail buddies? Please?

If interested, and to keep your privacy, you can email me your address or PO Box. My address is listed on my contact page. Yes, I court stalkers, I know.

So help a girl on the mend and keep me from going batshit crazy staring out of this window or at this computer. Send me letters! Send me cards! Send me drawings! Just dont send me body parts or bombs. 😛  .lol.

Now, on to the healing part. 3 weeks in the boot. Three weeks of not being able to get up and get my own coffee or food or move comfortably.

BaxterMarie thinks my boot is her own personal scratching post. Jeffrey Jones does care one way or another. He doesnt even get out of my way when he see me hobbling along. He wants me dead, I know it.

On to something altogether different – music. I have been listening to Disturbs cover of The Sound of Silence on a loop. I LOVE this cover. David Draimans voice is so beautifully powerful. I was really surprised they covered this song.

Another musician that has a powerfully wide range to his vocals is Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour. He can woo you with melodies and scream your head off. Its magical.

Movies – I have been watching movies. Both new and old. I had never seen Ravenous. Very good. I cant believe it took me this many years to sit down and watch it. Sometimes I get on a particular actor or actress binge. But my fall back is always horror and psychological thrillers. I dont really have any particual movie I want to rave about at the moment, but I’m sure in the next few weeks I’ll start posting up some movie reviews.

The Role Play world is touch and go. I quit one game altogether due to bullshit. The remaining game I play is touchy at the moment. There is apparantly a bit of out of character drama going on behind the scenes moving long time players to leave the game. Sadness. My characters are going strong, however.

So, when I go see the doctor, we’ll see how the broken bone and two fractures are healing. He wasnt too concerned with the fractures, but the broken bone seemed to worry him. He said there is a possibility that surgery may be required if it doesnt heal right in the boot. YAY…Stuck in a boot or cast even longer. GGRRAAHHH.

Okay my sweetlings, I’m off for now.

~hugs and squishes~

PS: Send me some mail!!! <3

The Boot. An update…

2016-01-25 11.27.402016-01-25 11.27.552016-01-25 11.28.10

So, since my last post, I’ve been to the bone specialist. Come to find out, I have not only fractured two bones in my foot, but I have broken another one as well.

So I have been BOOTED. UGH. This thing is a monstousity. Granted, I chose it over getting an uncomfortable cast that I wouldnt be able to take off for bed or bath.

Walking in this thing is something I dont recomment. I have nearly doubled my bodily injury since getting it put on this morning.

So, while I am convelsing, I had to decide what to do with my time while I get waited on by my lovely child. NOT. I really have just put a bunch of snacks and drinks in here in my office. The only challenge is potty time…lol.

I have broken out my stress relieving coloring books! I am also writing a little more, but mostly for my RP games.

Lookit my colors!!

2016-01-25 12.17.122016-01-25 12.17.19

So, I’m going to go color some more now. I’ll likely be blogging really weird things when the pain killers kick in. 😛

I broke myself…

2016-01-05 10.45.18

First off, lets start with the kittehs. There’s BaxterMarie with her big mouth open for a fierce looking somethingorother.

Baxter had to have emergency surgery not too long ago. I noticed she was going into heat, and well, she was less than two months old at the time. So off to the vet she went.

Come to find out, she had little cysts in her female inside parts. So, she got spayed way earlier than they like to do it.

She came through everything just fine. The vets office said ‘have her take it easy and rest.’ I laughed and said ‘have you met my cat?’.

BaxterMarie has two speeds. Sleep and wide-ass open.  Despite all the playing and jumping and shenanagans, she came through everything just fine, and Jeffrey only got scolded a few times for trying to bite too close to her incision site. He is still obsessed with her little feet.

Now, on the subject of feet. In all my lovely grace, I have fractured two bones in my left foot. All I wanted to do was go take a piddle, and I misjudged where the bathroom door was in the dark. I rammed that sucker so hard.

Now, I didnt think I actually did anything but ram it real good, and I got a big splinter between my toes that tore a chunk of skin off. But after about a half hour, the foot was throbbing and swelling. I sent a few pics of it to my daughters daddy and he offered to come get me and take me to the ER. I mean, it was 2:30- 3AM. I only live about 3 miles from the hospital here in town, so I declined the offer and drove myself.

Sure enough, I fractured two bones above my last two toes about an inch up. GRAH.

So Monday I have an appointment with a bone specialist.

The worst part of it all, is that I had to cancel a lunch date that I had been anticipating for weeks. Totally sucked. But rescheduling is no big deal, I was just looking forward to seeing my friends silly face.

So, my mobility is shot. I am coloring a lot. I am eating totally unhealthy foods that are easy to cook and dont require me standing too long. Sleep is uncomfortable because even with the sucky pain meds given, there is a constant ache in my foot. Oh, and I have to keep my two toes taped together, and because of the chunk of skin missing, I have to clean it with alcohol and shove gauze in there too. Fun. Yeah.

So, in light of that blunder, I have put a nightlight in the hallway so I can see. I have a regular light in the hall, but never used it. In all my time living in this house, nothing like that has ever happened. And I dont like using the hall light because the daughter sleeps with her door open for the cats and the light would hit her in the face.

Yeah, my house needs child-proofing for my protection…lol.

Reaching decisions for the New Year…

Animals_Cat_Kitten_Keyboard_Sleep_61984_detail_thumb

Well, with my ongoing depression and lack of motivation for damn near anything, I have decided that my latest novel, the sequel to The Road of Darkness, will be put on hold.

I have it nearly completed, but, I’m not enthusiastic about it.

So for the time being, I will be working on it when the mood strikes, and I will be blogging more instead, as well as keeping detailed daily journals and working on my little short stories. I may even toss you guys some smut snippets. Everyone loves the smut, right?

So, to all who have been anticipating The Path of Redemption, I am truly sorry for the set back. You can produce a good story if you are not feeling it. Thats my belief, anyway.

In the meantime, prepare yourselves for the antic of my cats, my kid, and the general tomfoolery I find myself on (completely on accident, mind you)

Thank you so much to all of you, and there are some of you I have a special rapport with… dont think this means I will stop pestering you!!!

Much love and squishes to you all, and a Good New Years to you…

~squishes more and drools a little~

And it's over…

As you can see from the photos above, this dreaded holiday called Christmas is finally over in my house.

The colorful zip tied gift was what I gave my daughter, among other things. But I always do one gift that she really has to work for. So, I used about 100 colorful zip ties to seal up a small card box with cash in it. Then I took that zip tied package and put it in a small gift box, taping it down so it didnt rattled or move. THEN…I placed that box into a bigger gift box and taped it down. AND THEN…I wrapped the big gift box, using wrapping paper and then sort of lamanating the entire thing with clear packing tape.

Yeah, she earned that cash. Cursing me the entire time. I LOVE IT!!!

Then you can see in the other photos the kittehs got their stockings full of toys. I just sort of tossed the toys on the floor in the middle of my office. I snapped a good pic of Jeffrey Jones, however BaxterMarie was having none of it. She just wanted to play with all the new shiny toys.

We ate, I drank. I’m still drinking now.

I wrote some, RP mostly.

I have some lovely friends who sent me holiday greetings, and my evil twin and I met for lunch earlier in the week…she gave me a Walking Dead key tag that has Daryl Dixons cross-bow hanging from it. ~SQUEEE~ Its perfect.

My daughter got me an Amazon gift card. I always ask for money or Amazon gift cards. I usually prefer picking out my own things.

I refered to this holiday as dreadful. I dont like this time of year. I get very, very depressed. And I feel nothing goes my way, and, in the true nature of that, NOTHING has gone my way this season. It only adds to the natural depression.

I sent my best friend an Amazon gift card. I imagine she’ll buy books. She’s a reader.

I slept off and on today. Between drinking. And I didnt get any sleep last night, so the alcohol induced sleepiness was helpful.

I’m at a stalling point in my novel. So, instead of putting added stresses on myself, and anxiety, I am stepping away from it until January. Then my editor is going to hate me. >_>

I want to get back into my old routine of setting up at the coffee shop and writing the day away. I was always most productive that way. Here at home I have way too many distractions.

So, hope you all had good holidays if you celebrate.

And thank you Patricia for giving me a kick in the pants. 😛

Another NaNo Down

NaNo-2015-Winner-Banner

Another year of NaNoWriMo is down. I went well above my 50,000 goal for an nice 64,100 words.

Now, the hard part starts. The rewriting and editing. Blah.

I have to admit, I do not have the same enthusiasm for Book Two, tentatively titled The Path of Redemption, as I did for the first book.

I need cheerleaders, people. Patricia doesnt count. >_> She is biased. <3 you, girl!

I have a new laptop thanks to my mother, since old one is really old and stupid. I couldnt even get chrome to open half the time. Dont get me wrong, it was a great laptop, back when it was new, years and years ago. I wont get rid of it. It will make a handy spare, and well, right now, until my daughter gets a new processor for her PC, she is using my old laptop for her school work and watching Netflix and stuff. She just plugs the HDMI into her TV and uses her wireless mouse and keyboard. So, old laptop isnt going to waste.

These two cats are an unending source of comedy. Right at this moment, I am in the middle of a Matrix/Inception style of fight between them.

I had plan to travel, but they got cancelled, and I’m not going to New Orleans this Christmas, so I set up a cheesy little Christmas tree so the daughter is entertained. She is going to hate me when she gets her ‘gag gift’. Well, the gift inside is real, its just GETTING TO the gift that is the gag. Yes, I’m evil and demented and have all year to think of weird ways to make other peoples little moments in time pure hell.

Well, I’ve got a plate of hot wings and pub chips calling my name.

~love and squishes my darlings~
