Another great post!

nanowrimo tipsAlright, so November is just around the corner and you know what that means. Or maybe you don’t know what that means, in which case, let me tell you. November is the National Novel Writing Month, where people from all over the world come together to write a 50 000 word novel starting on November 1st and ending on November 30th.

Visit the official NaNoWriMowebsite for more information. This is where you have your user profile and there is also a large handy-dandy forum where you can discuss plot ideas, get help, ask fellow writers how to best get rid of a dead body or how the muscle structure of a human with wings would work, critique and get critiqued, or just chat about general nonsense.

If you want to add me as your writing buddy please feel free! Add me on twittertoo and join me…

The NaNoWriMo Tag

I think I may fill this little baby out myself and post it tomorrow! Great idea!!!

nanowrimo tagThis tag was created by Kristina Horneron youtube and I found it on Tamara’s blogTamaraniacand decided to do it myself. Even if Kristina created it with booktubers in mind I’m sure she won’t mind if us regular bloggers get on it as well 😀

1. How many times have you done NaNoWriMo?

I’ve done it every year since 2009, so this is my 7th year. I’ve reached 50k every time, woo.

2. How did you first find out about NaNoWriMo?

I don’t even remember. I probably heard about it somewhere in relation to fanfiction writing. I think I first heard about it in 2008 and then must have forgotten about it because I found it again next year, on October 31st. So I decided to join on a whim and began to write right when the clock hit midnight. Good times.

3. What was the name of the first…

Hosting my 1st NaNoWriMo Event: The Kick-Off

a1d913ec-8fee-4470-ab03-568f2731fbb6_zpsgwsdwpdd

So yesterday I hosted my first of many NaNoWriMo events. The Kick Off party.

I think it turned out great, with more people showing than I had thought.

One of the greatest things was meeting people face to face that I had only talked to via the NaNo forums and mail. Everyone was absolutely incredible.

We chatted about writing and NaNo, past events, plotting, genres, and, well, just loads of stuff.

We even have 3 little ones there. Two second graders and one third grader. They are brother and sisters, so they will be working on their NaNo project together, which will be amazing for them.

Thanks to our library system we will have future party events and write-ins, which are bound to be fantastic.

I think I handled myself pretty well, I didnt commit any homocides, and I didnt run anyone over with my truck on the drive home (it was dark, I dont like driving in the dark, then factor in road rage >_> )

So, this NaNo season is kicking off with a great start. We are already prepping for the end of NaNo party, well, the secondary one, for grown ups only. (Bring on the booze!)

With NaNo kicking off on Sunday, I plan on finishing a 1000 (no more, no less) short story I have been working on, and GAMING! In my current favorite game, my characters are in a masquerade party. Its a community event on the forum, and no one knows what character is posting as who, so, basicly, you are dressed up. I have to have my final posts posted to the thread by 11:00PM on Halloween. There will be little forum prizes and stuff, I just joined in for the fun of it. I hadnt participated last year, and came up with some clever costume ideas for my characters, so…yeah.

Once Sunday hits…I will once again be living in my coffee shop, because there are too many things distracting me here at home. At the coffee shop, on my laptop, I am limited, because my poor laptop is running so crappily that opening browsers takes forever…hence, I wont be gaming. I’ll have media player running, my headphones on, and my word document open. And my HAMMERHEADS!!! My sweet sweet hammerheads that only my girls know how to make just the way I like them.

So, my sweets, I will give updates here and there. Hopefully, after NaNo and some chopping and adding, and sending bits and pieces to my editor and beta readers, we’ll have a Book Two to be released before Summer/Fall of next year!! Woooo!

Be sweet, my darlings!

Snail Mail Surprises!

Snail Mail YAY!

I LOVE getting snail mail. Today I received this card in the mail from my dear friend Patricia. Inside was a note involving mutations, blood cells, zombies and blood suckers. I was enamoured, as you can imaging.

I laughed so much reading it. It is truly of my morbid tastes, while being completely endearing.

This one is going on my ‘wall of favorites’ where I keep stickers and pins and comic panels that I want everyone who comes into my office to see.

So, thank you, Patricia. Truly the highlight of my day, because it was a total drag having to get dressed.

SHE LIVES!!!….sorta….

YES! I LIVE!!!!

I tell you, these past few months have been ass-kickers. The loss of my beloved Fat Cat, my big sister getting married. Whew.

The weddings was WONDERFUL!!

Even the part where I fell off a bridge into a sand dune and lay there yelling ‘HO DOWN!’…and that was BEFORE I started drinking. ~face palms~

It was a really great time. Beautiful service. My sister was radiant.

So, I was super busy, and didnt mean to be gone from the blogging world as long as I was. My buddy Patricia told me I needed to dust the thing off a bit. I love getting email from you all, I really do! Always puts a smile on my face!

I am totally immersed in the coming NaNoWriMo Event this year. I was made a Municipal Liaison and working with the NaNo staff, we restructed the previous years Regions into something a little different. So, instead of just two areas that were without Liaisons in previous years, we combined the two, and added two more counties to the mix.

I have found the libraries in most towns are more than happy to help in the event, as well as some local businesses. I have been busy coordinating meetups and write ins, as well as preparing fun little things for the events and parties.

I feel accomplished and proud. I really hope we get a larger participant community build in comparison to previous years.

The role play world has been treating me decently. I have a character with a mad crush on another, and it looks like he just may be returning those feelings. Exciting. My other character, well, she is as weird as always. No one likes dealing with her, so I dont get much writing time with her anymore. My alternate character seems to be garnering more attention, so the shift from main and alt just may change.

The other game? The strictly vampire one? Well, I log into the grid to move, feed, steal …and thats pretty much it. I havent even visited the role play forums for that game in ages, as no one writes with me anymore, and I’ve played that character for 13 years now, I am having a hard time focusing on new material to write solo for her.

Home life is good. Little Jeffrey is turning into Big Jeffrey and its almost time for his lovely ‘family jewels’ to be removed. The daughter is doing good, other than hating the fact that she is currently out of work. She’s doing great on obtaining her secondary degree, and is looking at two different schools to obtain her Bachelors in Paralegal Sciences. She is adamant that it be an ABA school, of course, and thats the smart thing to do.

I miss my Fat Cat every day. And I’m sure my friend Patricia is missing getting random emails and text from the old cat. No, Patricia, I will not give Jeffrey my passwords. 😛

So, my darlings, I have missed you all!

November will be busy, but I will Ninja on you every so often!
