Dec 12, 2014 : I REFUSE!

Guess what monstrosities the doctor gave me today for my severe carpal tunnel?

These things.

Now, guess what purple haired girl wore them for 10 minutes and said NOPE!

That’s right…this girl…

So, since the monstrosities the doc gave me are so cumbersome and make me feel like I’m in a permanent ‘high five’ position, I’ve gone on the search for a set that are less bulky, but just as supportive. I found some, they aren’t cheap, and of course insurance wont cover them. But, that’s the price you pay.

I simply cant do anything with those bulky black ones. They’d be fine when I’m sitting still (when that ever happens) or watching a movie or maybe even sleeping. But I need something I can still sit here and type in. And work my mouse (no, I don’t use a touch-pad. Never could master the silly thing.)

Its a bright beautiful day here, though a little on the chilly side. Still not as cold as normal for this time of year. That’s usually a bad omen. Last time this happened, it snowed in like…April. Granted, snow for us is a 2 inch dusting, but, we totally spazz. CLOSE THE STATE!!! AAAHHH!!! We’re more prepared for a zombie apocalypse down here than we are a bit of snow…lmao. Okay, at least I am.

I can hardly wait for the zombie apocalypse. 😀

I’ve started a little holiday shopping today. Granted, I dont really have anyone to buy much for. The kid wants money. Easy. One year, I gave her $200.00, however the catch was it was all in $1 bills, stuffed in 200 individual sealed envelopes, then stuffed into her stocking.

She didnt find it nearly as humorous as I did.

So after I postie this up, I’m going to be a good girl and give my hands and wrists a rest and put the stupid braces on. Maybe I’ll cuddle fat cat and take a nap.  🙂

I feel for you. Several months ago I was having some major problems with aches and pains, and severe swelling of my feet and legs. My shoulders and hips became sore and tender (no gloves can help these big thangs!) so I went to the doctor. My pain and swelling didn’t just start neither did it go away either. Since I am only in my early fifties it’s scary to find out that I have arthritis in my feet, my legs and my hips and shoulders, and my condition is only going to worsen as I age as my bones deteriorate more. So with little ado, I came home, started taking the two meds I am taking now and hope and pray that as I get older I can deal with this monster. The pain is easier and the swelling is under control but my water bill has increased $10 from peeing so many times a day!
But now a new little monster is giving me fits because of endless hours at my computer. NO TOUCH SCREEN HERE EITHER! My right wrist aches all the time and the large knot is irritating and has become dry and rough from rubbing around the mouse pad all day. I am tempted to find me a short wrist glove for my right hand that will take the pressure off my irritated wrist.
Hope you can find what you need!
My stocking is empty. Tell your daughter she can send her $1 dollar bills to me and not even have to take them out of the stocking!!! I’ll pay the postage!!!
Just kidding – have a wonderful and blessed holiday this year!

I feel ya! I have arthritis in my lower back. Swelling comes into play due to my susceptibility to blood clots in my legs. However, in the past year I’ve overhauled myself. Lost over a hundred pounds, eating better, exercising, the whole nine yards…but when your body starts deteriorating naturally, like with arthritis and blood clots, well, there’s not a lot to be done but wish the pain away and do as the doctor says.
I hope you have a great holiday! Thanks so much for stopping by, reading and sharing! 😀
